The Operator
Trulieve Cannabis Corp. (OTC: TCNNF; HQ Tallahassee) was founded in 2015 by CEO Kim Rivers and a Florida-native investor group. Trulieve was the first MMTC licensed in Florida and remains the largest by store count, by patient share, and by total THC volume sold. Per OMMU’s late-April 2026 update, Trulieve reported 95,217,319 milligrams of THC sold in a single week across approximately 169 locations, along with 47,608.219 ounces of smokable marijuana — roughly a fifth of Florida’s 757 dispensaries by store count, and a meaningfully higher share of total Florida THC volume.
Trulieve also operates outside Florida (Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts, West Virginia, Arizona, Connecticut, and others) but Florida remains the company’s anchor market. Trulieve was the principal funder of Smart & Safe Florida’s 2024 Amendment 3 campaign — contributing the bulk of the campaign’s ~$153.8 million in reported contributions, the most in any drug-legalization effort in U.S. history. Trulieve’s Hurricane Posture
Trulieve maintains a dedicated severe-weather page and SMS alert system for storm-impacted operations. Standing guidance recommends a one-week buffer ahead of any National Hurricane Center cone of uncertainty including the patient’s county. Trulieve’s Employee Relief Fund distributed over $30,000 to Hurricane Ian-affected Florida employees in 2022. More on hurricane patient continuity.
The 3rd-Party Source-of-Truth Problem
Third-party MMTC trackers (Leafly, Weedmaps, etc.) are not reliable for Trulieve Florida inventory in real time. The Trulieve app and store-locator are the authoritative source. ⚠️ Even those can lag intra-day inventory churn at high-volume Miami-Dade locations like the Aventura/Biscayne and Miami Beach stores.
